INDIAN HENNA NEUTRAL + BRINGARAJ is a set of two Ayurvedic botanical powders for the gentle care of natural, grey and light hair. The combination of Cassia and Bhringraj helps enhance the natural beauty of grey hair while providing a soft tonal nuance, smoothness, shine and a more well-cared-for appearance without intensive colouring.

The set is suitable for those who do not wish to conceal their grey hair completely but would like to soften its bright silver tone, give the hair visual depth and preserve a natural, multidimensional colour. The result is significantly softer than colouring with Henna or Indigo and depends on the original shade, amount of grey hair, hair structure and porosity.

Gentle toning of grey hair

On grey, white and very light hair, Cassia may produce a soft golden, wheat or honey-coloured nuance. Bhringraj complements the mixture with a more subdued botanical tone and helps make the result appear deeper and more natural.

On dark hair, a visible colour change will not usually occur, although the hair may gain additional shine, smoothness and visible volume. On lightened, bleached or porous hair, the tone may appear brighter, warmer or less even.

The set does not lighten the hair or provide complete grey coverage. It is intended for gentle toning and cosmetic care. Always perform a strand test before first use.

Two Ayurvedic plants for tone and care

Cassia (Cassia obovata), also known as Neutral Henna, is not colouring Henna and does not usually give the hair a pronounced copper or red colour. It coats the surface of the hair with a fine botanical layer, helping the hair appear visibly thicker, smoother and shinier. On grey and very light hair, Cassia may produce a subtle golden tone.

Bhringraj (Eclipta alba) is traditionally used in Ayurvedic hair and scalp care. It complements the conditioning action of Cassia, helps maintain the well-cared-for appearance of the hair and provides softness, elasticity and natural shine. On light and grey hair, it may produce a subtle, muted botanical nuance.

Directions for use

Mix two parts INDIAN HENNA NEUTRAL powder with one part INDIAN HENNA BRINGARAJ powder. For one application, use approximately 2–4 tablespoons of Cassia and 1–2 tablespoons of Bhringraj. The required amount depends on the length and thickness of the hair.

Place the powders in a clean, non-metallic bowl and mix thoroughly. Gradually add hot water at a temperature of 60–70 °C until a smooth mixture with the consistency of thick cream is obtained. Allow the mixture to cool slightly to a comfortable application temperature.

Apply the prepared mixture evenly to clean, damp hair, beginning at the roots and distributing it throughout the lengths. Put on a plastic shower cap and wrap the head in a towel.

Leave the mixture on the hair for 45–60 minutes. For a more noticeable toning and conditioning effect, the processing time may gradually be increased to 90–120 minutes after first checking the result on a separate strand.

Rinse the hair thoroughly with plenty of warm water without shampoo. Avoid using shampoo during the first 24 hours after the treatment to allow the botanical ingredients to develop fully on the hair.

Use the prepared mixture immediately. Do not store or reuse any remaining mixed product. The treatment may be repeated once every 2–3 weeks or as required.

How to adjust the proportions

For a lighter and more golden result, use more Cassia and less Bhringraj. For a more subdued and deeper botanical nuance, the amount of Bhringraj may be increased slightly. Always perform a strand test before changing the proportions.

Botanical powders have a cumulative cosmetic effect: with regular use, the tone may become more noticeable and the hair may appear visibly thicker and shinier.

Important information about the result

The final tone depends on the original hair colour, the amount and distribution of grey hair, hair thickness and porosity, previous colouring treatments, the selected proportions, water temperature and processing time.

The result may be more noticeable on grey, white, lightened or bleached hair. On dark hair, any change in tone may be almost unnoticeable. The name and description of the toning effect indicate its general colour direction but do not guarantee an identical result on different hair.

Before applying the mixture to the entire head, always perform a strand test, especially if the hair has been lightened, bleached, permed, severely damaged or previously coloured with synthetic or botanical colourants.

Precautions

For external use only. Do not use to colour eyebrows or eyelashes. Before first use, perform a sensitivity test and a test application on a separate strand of hair. Do not apply to an irritated, inflamed, damaged or flaky scalp. Avoid contact of the powder or prepared mixture with the eyes. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with plenty of clean water. Do not inhale the powder. If pronounced burning, itching, redness or any other adverse reaction occurs, rinse the mixture off immediately and discontinue use.

Store the powders tightly closed in a dry, dark place at room temperature and out of reach of children. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.
